Sheridan Emergency Dept.

Exciting Progress Continues on New Sheridan Emergency Department

Community support for the new Sheridan Emergency Department has been overwhelming – and we’re making steady progress in moving the project toward full completion in early 2027. In the meantime, the Emergency Department remains fully operational and able to care for all patients.

  • Patients and visitors are now greeted by an all-new Reception & Waiting Area.

  • We have also opened our new Triage Area and our new Results Waiting Area for patients who have already begun their care.

  • In the coming weeks, we’ll open the new 7,700-square-foot addition, which will serve the most seriously ill or injured emergency department patients.

Nearly $14 million in community donations have been pledged to the project through the “Any Day. Any Time. Every One” campaign, along with a $15 million grant from New York State, meaning the hospital will be able to complete this major construction and renovation project without incurring any debt. Dollars raised beyond the construction and renovation costs will be used to endow a fund to provide complimentary valet parking services for patients and family members arriving at the Emergency Department by car.
